Professionals

How to Participate

TL:DR;

We are looking for digital health professionals who have a story to tell, impressive and diverse backgrounds, and value giving back to the next generation at scale.

Participating is simple.  All you need to do is:

  • Pick a date, provide a headshot, and 3 sentence bio via a form.
  • Spend a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes of your time to prep and speak at an event.

Please reach out to healthtechhunches@gmail.com for a form.

Background:

Many MBA and MD students are interested in entering digital health, but it can be difficult for students to identify and access professionals in the space for mentorship and connections.  They don’t know who will be open to sharing advice and may miss identifying potential career paths.

Think back to when you were graduating from undergrad and grad school…  how did you get career advice and exposure to different paths?

We built healthtech hunches (hh) to bridge students and early professionals interested in digital health with experienced professionals in the space.   We are currently focused on MBA and MD students.

  • We host weekly “Ask Me Anything” sessions via Zoom where students can connect with professionals and hear their advice.
  • We traditionally record these sessions and provide them on our website for “on demand” consumption. Note: You may request for your session to not be recorded.
  • Speakers may also offer to meet with students 1:1.

Benefits for students:

  • Develop connections with experienced professionals in the space and receive career advice.
  • Navigate career advancement using readily available videos, from trustworthy sources.

Benefits for speakers:

  • Scale your impact giving back to the next generation and identify top talent for recruiting.
  • If you receive frequent informational interview requests with similar questions, you can answer these q’s during your event and direct students to the recordings to address first order questions in the future.  This way phone calls can be leveraged for more personalized second order topics.

Criteria for Speakers

  • Have a story to tell, the ability to inspire, and excited to share their views on digital health.
  • Have impressive and diverse backgrounds in digital health.
  • Value giving back and supporting the next generation at scale.

What participation entails:

    1. Share your career experience and advice during an “Ask Me Anything” session.  These are typically held on Wednesday evenings weekly.  Prep from 4:45-5pm PT, session from 5-6pm PT.
    2. If you agree for your session to be recorded, we will add video recordings from your event to a personalized page on hh (Carolyn’s as an example), and in a searchable video library so that folks can access the content after the event.  Note: Starting in Fall 2021, we will be posting full-length recordings of our AMA sessions in our video library rather than shorter videos split by question.
    3. Optional: Include a survey on your page for students to request a 1:1 with you.

    • Identify a student moderator

  • Within 2 weeks of the event:
    • A page will be generated for you within hh including your event recording (if you agreed for your event to be recorded).  Your page will be publicized via the hh weekly email blast.
